What’s up wonderful, amazing, sweet, and lovely people? How y’all doing today? I hope you’re having a truly beautiful day—and I hope you know it’s still your joy! ✨ Welcome back to Maryam’s Joyful Life Blog.
Writing here always brings me so much joy because it gives me the chance to encourage you, share my heart, and hopefully brighten your day. Today’s post is about something very close to my heart: trusting in God and the power of the Psalms.
My Experience with the Psalms
Yesterday, I was so tired. I hadn’t had enough sleep for a few days, and my body just felt drained. My sweet man encouraged me to take a nap with the baby while he went to pick up the older kids from school. Honestly, I just wanted to rest.
But as I laid down, I felt weighed down—not just from tiredness, but from something heavy on my heart. I thought about getting up to meditate, but I knew I didn’t have the strength. That’s when the Holy Spirit gently placed something on my heart: “Turn on the book of Psalms on the Bible App.”
If you don’t already have the Bible App on your phone, I encourage you to download it today—it’s such a blessing. One of my favorite features is that you can have the Bible read aloud to you, in different voices, so you can just listen and soak it in.
So, I pressed play, starting from Psalm 1, and just let it read. As the words of Scripture filled the room, I felt a sense of healing—like the Word of God was washing over me. I drifted into the most refreshing nap, almost two and a half hours long!
When I woke up, I was amazed. I had started at Psalm 1, and by the time I opened my eyes, it had reached Psalm 50. That means, while I rested, I absorbed 50 chapters of the Word of God—and I felt renewed, energized, and light.
The Healing Power of God’s Word
Friend, if you’re feeling heavy, frustrated, weak, or discouraged—try this. Whether you’re lying down, sitting quietly, or even driving, turn on the Psalms and let the Word of God speak into your spirit.
The Bible says, “The word of God is living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword; it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow” (Hebrews 4:12).
That means nothing—no heaviness, no discouragement, no fear—can stand against God’s Word. It is living power, and it brings peace, healing, and strength right where you need it most.
Try It for Yourself
So today, I encourage you to try it. Let the Psalms play over you. Allow the Word to break down the walls of negativity and fill you with God’s peace. And when you do, come back and share your experience in the comments—I’d love to hear how it blessed you!
Remember this: don’t let anybody steal your joy. God’s Word is your weapon, your healing, and your strength.
With love and encouragement,
Maryam 💛
